There are thousands of type and designs of valves either available readily or can be manufactured as per customer's requirement. The most critical issue in the valve is leakage proof and the life of the valve without leakage. Leakage gets start after a continuous use of the same but the quality of materials and design plays a vital role in this matter.
Valve is a very small component and it itself have many sub components. A manufacturer have to take care not only for what quality of metal he is using to manufacture valve but also what kind of metal has to be used or he have to consider the material as per the application. For example for costa area where there is salty air is in contact with all metal surface a person can either use metal or PP as material but at the same time if he is using metal than he have to use stainless steel being known as anti corrosive. He can not use Carbon Steel because it will not sustain at such places. This is why in Shipbuilding and marine application maximum use of metal is Stainless Steel and carbon Steel use is being avoided.
